Major upgrade of the existing hospital, together
with the provision of several new Departments. As the hospital
was an acute facility, the works were undertaken on a phased
basis. The initial phase included the provision of three heavily
reinforced concrete containment buildings, to house linear accelerators
for radiological treatment. The contract included a major extension
of ward facilities, new “Step Down” unit, both refurbishment
and new build, and extensions to Central Supplies, Admissions,
Out-Patients Department, mortuary and Pharmaceutical Department.
